Congressman Killed Investigating Jonestown

In 1978, U.S. House of Representative Leo Ryan traveled to Guyana to investigate reports that Jim Jones was holding people against their will at the Peoples Temple Jonestown settlement. As Ryan and his team attempted to leave, they were shot and killed.
