McDonald's Drive-Thru Born from Soldiers

In 1975, McDonald’s opened its first drive-thru to serve soldiers stationed at Fort Huachuca in Arizona. At the time, military regulations prohibited soldiers from leaving their vehicles while in uniform when off-post.
