Pilgrims Settled Ghost Village

Before the Mayflower landed, a thriving Patuxet village existed on the Massachusetts coast. A deadly epidemic wiped out about 90% of its inhabitants. When the Pilgrims arrived, they settled in the remains of the village and renamed it Plymouth Colony.
