Cassowary

Cassowaries are known as the world's most dangerous birds because their powerful, sharp claws can instantly kill or maim a human or dog. One American man even died after keeping one as a pet. In 1926, two brothers hunting a Southern Cassowary in Australia suffered a tragic fate-the older brother's jugular was cut fatally, while the younger was merely knocked over. Interestingly, the bird's meat is so tough that folklore advised cooking it with a stone, declaring, "When the stone is ready to eat, so is the Cassowary."
