Wolfsbane

Wolfsbane

Wolfsbane, a plant that grows wild in many parts of the world, is so toxic that even skin contact can be deadly within hours. It was one of the first poisons discovered by modern man, used by the Nazis to poison bullets, and it features prominently in works like Hamlet. One gardener working on the estate of a multimillionaire died after handling a wolfsbane flower-he succumbed to multiple organ failure five days later. In ancient China, Spanish Fly beetles were mixed with human excrement, arsenic, and wolfsbane to create what is believed to be the world's first recorded stink bomb.
