Han Dynasty's Origin Via Escape

The Han Dynasty originated when a sheriff, while transporting convicts, witnessed several escapes. Aware that the punishment for such acts was death, he freed the remaining convicts and organized many of them into a rebel band. Ultimately, he helped overthrow the ruling Qin Dynasty and installed himself as Emperor.
