On April 13, 1919, the British Imperial Army opened fire without warning on a peaceful gathering at Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar (India), where people were protesting the colonial government's inhumanities. Known as the Amritsar Incident, this massacre led to the deaths of thousands of unarmed men, women, and children.
