CIA’s Lost Himalayan Spy Devices

In the 1960s, the CIA paid climbers to place nuclear-powered spy devices in the Himalayas to monitor Chinese nuclear weapons tests. Some of the devices were left unattended and subsequently lost, and there are now concerns about the long-term environmental and radiological impact downstream from the glacier-fed rivers.
