During World War 2, the British Special Operations Executive printed and distributed stamps featuring Heinrich Himmler in Germany to destabilize the regime by fueling rumors of Himmler's ambition to replace Hitler. However, the scheme failed as Germans never cared and continued using these stamps, which have since become collectible.
