Tom Fogerty's Tragic Blood Transfusion

In the 1980s, Tom Fogerty, the rhythm guitarist for Creedence Clearwater Revival, underwent back surgery and received a blood transfusion that was not properly screened for HIV. As a result, he became infected with the virus, which eventually progressed to AIDS, leading to his death from tuberculosis.
