In 2001, the city of Aswan in Egypt experienced an unusual rainfall event that led to an unexpected phenomenon known as the Aswan scorpion invasion. As a result of the heavy rain, scorpions were forced to leave their habitats and came into contact with humans, resulting in over 500 people being stung by these venomous creatures.
