Frida Kahlo's Dark Secrets

Frida Kahlo's Dark Secrets

Frida Kahlo was impaled by a handrail in a bus accident, fracturing her spine and pelvis. She started painting during her recovery and went on to become one of Mexico's greatest artists. After the tragic suicide of socialite Dorothy Hale, Frida was commissioned by Hale's friend to paint a likeness of Hale. Instead of a beautiful portrait, Kahlo painted a sequence of Hale leaping to her death from her 16th story apartment. Frida also once cheated with the women her husband would cheat on her with to get back at him for cheating on her.
