Assyrian Lens Technology

The Assyrians had basic lens technology, and one of their creations, the Nimrud lens, dates back to 710 B.C., though its purpose is debated. Lenses could have been used for starting fires, decoration, or as astronomy tools (with references to the snakes of Saturn being the rings or mythology).
