The Punisher

There is a “What if” story in which The Punisher’s family was never killed in the park. In this universe, Frank retires from his service in the military, becomes a New York City cop, and is generally happy with his life, but when he starts reporting on police corruption, the precinct captain has his family killed and he becomes the Punisher anyway.
