On April 22, 1963, a tornado crossed a couple of counties in Illinois. Before the funnel lifted about 2 miles west of Decatur, it reportedly carried several cows high into the air. The cows survived but "acted strangely for several days" afterward. The tornado also destroyed two farmhouses and probably carried a man about 200 yards through the air, and he died in a hospital several days later.
