Cannonball Loop Walls Contained Teeth

In 1983, Action Park in Vernon, New Jersey, built the Cannonball Loop, an enclosed water slide with a complete vertical loop. When it briefly opened in 1985, riders suffered bloody noses, back injuries, and lacerations while enduring forces of up to nine Gs. Investigators later traced some of the cuts to teeth that previous riders had lost and left embedded in the slide's interior walls. New Jersey's Advisory Board on Carnival Amusement Ride Safety ordered the attraction closed after only one month.
