In 1917, British Shakespearean actress Ellen Terry attended a London school production of Julius Caesar and watched 10-year-old future actor Laurence Olivier play Brutus. She wrote in her diary, "The small boy who played Brutus is already a great actor." Olivier later earned praise in school productions of Twelfth Night, The Taming of the Shrew, and A Midsummer Night's Dream before beginning his professional stage career in 1925.
