Peter Vamplew's Profane Paper Passed

In 2014, an Australian IT professor named Peter Vamplew answered a spam email from the International Journal of Advanced Computer Technology by submitting a paper consisting almost entirely of the phrase "Get me off your fu*king mailing list." Scientists David Mazieres and Eddie Kohler had written the paper in 2005 to protest another conference's spam and lax acceptance standards, repeating the phrase throughout its text and diagrams. The journal's peer-review process rated the paper's suitability as "excellent" and accepted it with minor editorial changes. Vamplew prevented its publication by refusing to pay the required $150 processing fee.
