Rock Fans Recreate Led Zeppelin

In 2005, about 3,500 rock fans polled by Planet Rock Radio chose members for an imaginary supergroup and ended up recreating Led Zeppelin. Singer Robert Plant beat Queen singer Freddie Mercury, while guitarist Jimmy Page finished ahead of Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash and Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore. Voters also selected bassist John Paul Jones and drummer John Bonham, giving every position to Led Zeppelin's original lineup.
