Thrones Showrunners Reduced Garden Walks

Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss began reducing scenes in which characters discussed political schemes during garden walks after seeing South Park's 2013 parody episode "Black Friday." The episode turned those conversations into a recurring "Garden of Betrayal" joke, with Cartman plotting against other children while strolling through a neighbor's garden. Benioff and Weiss later confirmed in the Season 4 Blu-ray commentary that they consciously used such scenes less frequently because of the parody.
