Beat It Cast Rival Gangs

For the music video for "Beat It," Michael Jackson cast real members of the rival Bloods and Crips. Director Bob Giraldi recalled that Jackson recruited them, apparently through the LAPD's gang squad, so they could work together under police supervision. Tensions nearly stopped filming, but the gang members gathered to watch Jackson's dance sequence, and the shoot continued.
