Queen's Predecessor Sculpted Thomas Faces

Tim Staffell, who later became chief model maker for the first series of Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends, left his rock band Smile in 1970. Freddie Mercury then joined Staffell's former bandmates Brian May and Roger Taylor as lead singer, and they formed Queen. Staffell went on to sculpt some of the original faces and figures for Thomas.
