ABBA Declined Disney's Lion King

For The Lion King (1994), Disney lyricist Tim Rice first tried to recruit ABBA to write the film's songs. Rice had worked with the group on Chess, but they were busy with an opera and declined. He then suggested Elton John, who accepted and composed the songs with Rice; Hans Zimmer composed the film's score.
