Helen Keller Co-Founded The ACLU

Helen Keller joined the Socialist Party of America in 1909 and campaigned for working-class causes until 1921. She also supported women's suffrage, pacifism, and labor rights while backing Socialist presidential candidate Eugene V. Debs. In 1920, Keller helped found the American Civil Liberties Union.
