Apocalypse Now Substituted Sheen's Brother

During the filming of Apocalypse Now (1979), lead actor Martin Sheen suffered a near-fatal heart attack. While he recovered, his younger brother Joe Estevez stood in for him in some scenes and later recorded Captain Willard's voice-over narration because their voices sounded nearly identical. Estevez received no screen credit, and director Francis Ford Coppola later said he could no longer distinguish which scenes featured Joe and which featured Martin.
