Who, Me? Stench Weapon Backfired

Who, Me? was a top-secret, sulfurous, nonlethal chemical weapon developed during World War II by an MIT graduate named Ernest Crocker for the US Office of Strategic Services. It smelled strongly of fecal matter and came in pocket atomizers intended for French Resistance members to spray discreetly on German officers, humiliating them and demoralizing the occupying forces. Its volatile sulfur compounds often left the sprayer smelling as foul as the target. After only two weeks, the OSS declared the experiment a failure.
