Queen Elizabeth's Letter Opens 2085

In November 1986, Queen Elizabeth II wrote a secret letter to Sydney's lord mayor and the city's residents while visiting the Queen Victoria Building. Staff sealed it immediately under her instructions and secured it inside a glass case in a restricted area at the top of the building's main dome. The envelope directs Sydney's lord mayor to choose a suitable day in 2085, open it, and deliver her message to the city's citizens. Its contents remain unknown.
