Metallica Entered National Recording Registry

The first metal recording selected for preservation in the National Recording Registry was Metallica's 1986 album Master of Puppets. The Library of Congress placed it in the 2015 registry after deeming it "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." Its selection was publicly announced in March 2016 as one of 25 new additions to the registry.
