During an April 2016 Scottish expedition to find the Loch Ness Monster, the team instead discovered a 30-foot model of the creature at the bottom of the lake. Filmmakers had built the model in 1969 for director Billy Wilder's 1970 film "The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes." Wilder ordered its two humps removed despite warnings that this would affect its buoyancy, causing the altered prop to sink during filming.
