Germany Uses One Alternative-Medicine License

In Germany, non-physicians who independently provide treatments such as homeopathy, osteopathy, or acupuncture must obtain a Heilpraktiker license. Candidates need no formal education or regulated training, but health authorities require them to pass an examination covering anatomy, physiology, pathology, psychiatry, and relevant laws. Germany does not conduct separate state board examinations for individual alternative therapies, so the license permits practitioners to use any unconventional method within their legal boundaries.
