Opry Welcomed Thirteen-Year-Old Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton wrote her first song at age 5 and began playing homemade instruments by age 7. By age 10, she was performing on local radio and television. In 1959, when Parton was 13, Johnny Cash introduced her during her first performance at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry.
