Henry Miller Leaked D-Day Timing

An American general was sent home in disgrace after revealing the timing of the secret D-Day invasion at a London dinner party. In April 1944, Major General Henry J. F. Miller told a fellow officer at Claridge's that the invasion would take place before June 15. When Dwight D. Eisenhower learned of the security breach, Miller was demoted from major general to his permanent rank of lieutenant colonel and returned to the United States. The public remained unaware of the incident until after the Normandy landings.
