Terence Otway Tested D-Day Secrecy

Before D-Day, British Lieutenant Colonel Terence Otway reportedly devised an unusual test to ensure his men would not leak their secret D-day plans. He selected 30 of the most attractive members of the Women's Auxiliary Air Force, asked them to wear civilian clothes, and sent them into local pubs frequented by his soldiers. The women tried everything they could to coax details of the mission from the men without revealing the test. Not one soldier disclosed the plans, satisfying Otway that his 9th Parachute Battalion could be trusted with their operation.
