Nero Fell, Judges Awarded Victory

In the year 67 AD, Roman Emperor Nero took part in an Olympic chariot race with 10 horses instead of 4. He fell off his chariot and did not finish the race, but the judges gave him the victory anyway, because Olympic officials did not want to anger the emperor. The organizers even delayed the 65 AD Olympics until 67 AD to accommodate Nero, who won seven crowns for events including chariot racing, tragedy and lyre-playing.
