Angela Lansbury Fled Manson's Orbit

In the early 1970s, British-American actress Angela Lansbury moved her family from California to Ireland after her daughter, Deirdre, became involved with Charles Manson and both of her children began using drugs. Her son Anthony had also suffered a heroin overdose and fallen into a coma, while a brush fire destroyed the family's Malibu home in 1970. Lansbury and her husband bought an 1820s farmhouse near Conna in County Cork, where Anthony recovered after quitting cocaine and heroin.
