The Black Death relieved the pressure of population on Europe in the 14th century. The result was a labor shortage that raised wages and lowered rents and narrowed the economic gap between landowner and worker. Survivors also found more food, including meat and dairy products, and had better diets, more wealth and longer life expectancies.
