Nicholson's Batman Deal Kept Paying

For the 1989 film Batman, Jack Nicholson negotiated a percentage of the film's profits and merchandise sales as part of his deal to play the Joker. Although he appeared only in Batman, his contract also gave him a share of merchandise sales from Batman Returns, Batman Forever, and Batman & Robin. In the end, the deal earned Nicholson a more than $60 million, or about $150 million in 2025.
