Mississippi has no statewide open-container law, making it technically legal for a driver to drink alcohol while operating a vehicle as long as the driver does not become impaired. Drunk driving remains illegal, with a blood alcohol limit of 0.08% for adults, 0.04% for commercial drivers, and 0.02% for minors.
