Colorado Protects Home Vegetable Gardens

Under Colorado law, HOAs cannot prohibit owners of detached single-family homes from establishing vegetable gardens in their front, back, or side yards. SB23-178 took effect on August 7, 2023, requiring HOA landscaping rules to permit such gardens in all three areas. This does not apply to condominiums or attached homes that share one or more walls.
