A python owned by Australian drug traffickers running a methamphetamine lab became addicted to crystal meth after prolonged exposure to drug fumes and absorption through its skin. Authorities described the snake as "very aggressive" and placed it in a wildlife care program run by inmates at a minimum-security prison near Sydney. The python spent about seven months in rehabilitation while the drugs gradually left its system. By the end of the program, handlers said it had recovered and become much calmer.
