The phenomenon keeps the Sun above the horizon for a full 24-hour period during the Antarctic summer, something that standard Flat Earth models cannot easily explain. Some participants said the experience changed or challenged their beliefs after witnessing it firsthand. Others in the Flat Earth community continued to insist that the expedition or its evidence had been faked.
