The war between the Outlaws and the Hells Angels began after three Hells Angels bikers were executed and beheaded by Outlaws members in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on April 27, 1974. The killings reportedly came as retaliation for the beating of an Outlaw by a Hells Angel in New York City in 1973. Later in 1974, the Hells Angels declared war on the Outlaws during a club summit in Cleveland, and the conflict cost both clubs hundreds of fatalities over the following decades.
