For Meet the Fockers (2004), the MPAA nearly pushed the comedy toward an R rating because the surname “Focker” sounded too close to an expletive. Ben Stiller later said the filmmakers had to find a real person with the last name Focker to prove that the title used an actual surname, not just dirty wordplay.
