Wisconsin Canoes Predate Egyptian Pyramids

In Wisconsin, archaeologists have discovered 16 ancient canoes in a lake, with the oldest dating back about 5,200 years. That makes the oldest canoe roughly 400 years older than Egypt's first pyramids. Experts believe people may have intentionally left the canoes in the water so other tribal members could use them later.
