Queen Anne's Seventeen Pregnancies

British monarch Queen Anne was pregnant 17 times in 17 years, but at least 12 of those pregnancies ended in miscarriage or stillbirth. Of her five children born alive, only Prince William, Duke of Gloucester, survived past infancy. Anne deeply grieved him when he died in 1700 at age 11. When she died in 1714 without a surviving heir, the British crown passed to the House of Hanover.
