Honey Bear Beer Meth Bust

In 2023, a 21-year-old New Zealand man named Aiden Sagala drank from a can of Canadian "Honey Bear House Beer" that actually contained liquid methamphetamine and died several days later. Investigators traced the can to a massive smuggling operation that hid methamphetamine inside beer cans and other beverage containers. The investigation ultimately led to the seizure of about 700 kilograms of methamphetamine, the largest meth bust in New Zealand history.
