Dennis Klatt Gave Hawking Voice

American computer scientist Dennis H. Klatt programmed the voice system that became associated with British physicist Stephen Hawking. Klatt worked on the code while undergoing cancer treatment, and the disease eventually took both his own voice and his life. Hawking never changed the program, saying, “My friend Dennis’ voice is my voice.”
