Tim Horton’s Fatal Impaired Crash

Canadian hockey player and Tim Hortons co-founder Tim Horton died in 1974 after driving at high speed while impaired by alcohol and drugs. He crashed his sports car on the Queen Elizabeth Way in St. Catharines, Ontario, after a police pursuit. Tests later found his blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit, and authorities also found evidence of drugs in his system.
