Bait Car Exposed Miranda Failure

In 2012, the American TV show "Bait Car" unintentionally helped car theft suspect Keenen Alex get his charges dropped. TV footage showed Detective Anthony Shapiro asking, “You watch TV. You know your rights and all that?” instead of properly reading Alex his Miranda rights. Prosecutors dropped the case after the recorded arrest made Alex’s statements unusable as evidence.
