Nicolas Cage Won Without Pay

In 1995, American actor Nicolas Cage starred in "Leaving Las Vegas" and later won the Academy Award for Best Actor for the role. Cage said he never received the $100,000 salary he was promised for the film. Director Mike Figgis also said he never received his own $100,000 fee, while the studio claimed the $4 million movie never made a profit despite grossing $32 million.
